Animal Jars

Animal Jars

Transform little glass jars into adorable animal containers. Use them to hold crayons, buttons, coins or any other small items.

What You Need:

  • Glass Jars with lids
  • Felt (elephant – purple; cat – orange, yellow, and black; dog: red, pink, brown, black)
  • Small pom pom (cat- pink; dog- black)
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Craft Glue
  • Paintbrush

How to Make It:

Remove the lid from the jar. Paint a thick coat of white craft glue on the top of the lid.

Place the lid upside down on the desired color of felt.

step-1-1

Use the scissors to trim the felt into a circle, then glue the edges flush with the lid. Place a rubber band around the felt on the lid to hold it in place while the glue dries.

step-2-1

Cut out the facial features from felt and glue them to the lid. For the elephant, you need two matching ears and a trunk. For the cat, cut two circles for a muzzle, two triangular ears, and six thin black whiskers. For the dog, cut two circles for a muzzle, two floppy ears, a tongue, and short whiskers.

step-3

Glue the googly eyes in place. Add the pom pom noses.

step-4

Tip:

  • You can use yarn or pipe cleaners instead of felt strips for the whiskers.
